Eliminate your worries about puzzling dreams and get direction on how to identify your particular symbolism in the future. $35.00 for 30 minutes
From my many years of teaching Dream Interpretation classes, and as a talk show host where dreams were phoned in for interpretation weekly, I learned that everyone dreams. The problem is that we often don’t REMEMBER our dreams. As youngsters, and even adults, we were repeatedly told when disturbed by a dream, “Forget it. It’s only a dream.” Also, noise of any kind or talking can cause you to lose the memory of your dreams: radio music or speaking, movement of others in the house, street noise, etc. will all contribute to instant forgetting.
There are several methods to enhance dream recall:
Before going to sleep tell yourself you will remember your dreams.
Keep a journal. Immediately upon waking, jot down some notes about your dream. Yes, even if you wake up in the middle of the night. A few written words will bring the dream back to mind & you can write it out more fully later on.
Before going to sleep, write down a simple question that you want an answer to. Memorize the question & place your note where you can see it upon awakening. Stay focused on the question as you drift off to sleep. When you wake up the note will remind you to recall your dream impressions & images and jot them down.
There are many kinds of dreams, but the key to interpreting your dreams is to understand the meaning of your symbolism. Symbols are very subjective and will mean different things to different people. There is no universal meaning for any given symbol. Symbols can mean different things to you at different times. Books and lists of symbols are only guide lines. Your meaning is personal to you alone.
Let’s take the example of an RV, a recreational vehicle. If an RV appears in someone’s dream, it can mean many things: The individual may have happy childhood memories of vacationing with an RV, in which case the RV in the dream can mean good times, carefree happy times with family & friends, adventure, traveling, etc. If the individual had a difficult time in an RV – perhaps breaking down in a rain storm & being stuck on the side of the road with no hook-ups for a day or two, an RV appearing in a dream may symbolize a trapped feeling, or a situation in which a person can’t do anything to help himself. Maybe even a frightening feeling. If a person has very little or no experience with an RV, it may just mean feeling at home when traveling, or it may symbolize moving your home and family. As you can see the list can go on & on, depending on what an RV means to you. It can symbolize a wide range of emotions and experiences in describing what has happened, what is happening, and what WILL happen. Remember, symbols are personal and their meaning can vary from dream to dream.
Types of Dreams:
1) Most dreams are Unconscious Observations, often in symbolism. You must learn to recognize your own symbols through practice and journaling.
2) Just as common are dreams in which your brain is Recording events, again often in symbolism.
3) Precognition. These are dreams which foretell the future in clear reality about half the time, or again, in symbolism.
4) Telepathic or Clairvoyant dreams will bring communication from another person, or present information about an event or situation in our sleep. This will sometimes include Astral travel.
5) Messages from the spirit world can bring messages from our deceased loved ones, our spirit guides, or others.
6) Past Life Memories are often recognizable because they are in a different time period or geographical setting.
7) Bad Thought Forms, frequently referred to as nightmares, can be an observation of negativity in the society, or negativity around you or the object of your dreams.
8) Chemical Non-dreams, identified by Edgar Cayce, are random dream patterns triggered by medication, alcohol, drugs, excess smoking or caffeine or too much sugar or overeating, or even exhaustion, and are to be disregarded. They are related to hallucinations triggered by drugs, etc.
9) Lucid Dreaming involves creating your own dreams through your will and imagination, sort of “directing” them in your sleep.
Always remember that symbolism in your dreams is very subjective and very personal. The definitions in books and other lists may not be relevant to you in a particular case. Often the main character in your dream, even though appearing as someone else, is YOU.
